Facilities
Shrewsbury House is set on a spacious five-acre site, with an additional seven-acre Sports Ground just minutes away. The historic charm of our Arts and Crafts manor house blends seamlessly with cutting-edge facilities that support the outstanding education our pupils receive.
Light-filled, well-equipped classrooms create the ideal environment for our small classes, with interactive smartboards Chrome books, iPads and laptops available for every room. Specialist facilities include an Art room, a D&T workshop, three science labs, and a spacious Dining Hall that also serves as a performance venue. Within the grounds, pupils enjoy an adventure playground and a newly laid 4G all-weather surface for play and sport.
Creative Arts
In our cutting-edge D&T workshop boys can design and build everything from motorised vehicles to marble labyrinths. In our Art Room, pupils explore a variety of media, creating both 2D and 3D works. Recent additions include a laser cutter and laser printer to expand creative possibilities.
Library
Our well-stocked and welcoming Library nurtures a strong reading culture and offers a place to relax - whether enjoying a quiet book or a game of chess with friends at lunchtime.
Laboratories
There are two fully equipped science laboratories and an additional junior laboratory in which the boys engage in science experiments. These provide the highest quality learning environments for Science and STEAM teaching.
Music
We have eight Music Rooms which are used throughout the day for one-to-one lessons or for boys to practise during break times. Bands are often set up by the boys themselves and supported by our dedicated and passionate music team.
Sport
Our impressive sports facilities guarantee that your son has access to the best sporting opportunities. Our large, off-site sports ground is one of the premier grass facilities among prep schools and with our new Sports Pavilion, we host regular events and fixtures that engage the whole school community.
On-site, we have a 20-metre heated swimming pool with a retractable roof, providing a flexible indoor and outdoor swim experience.
Our All-Weather Surface, provides an ideal setting for competitive rugby, cricket, and football.
Our Sports Hall is equipped with four cricket nets. Each net includes a bowling machine, video analysis and 'daylight technology' lighting, utilising modern technology to enhance our boys' experience of physical education here at Shrewsbury House. As well as significantly boosting the indoor cricket provision, the multi-purpose hall can be used for many different sports. There is a full-size basketball court, as well as the option of playing 5-a-side football, badminton and indoor tennis.
